Thoughts, spillover…

I’ve had this moment countless times in the past couple of years or even more.. This thought of writing something has always been at the back of my mind, but where do I even start? The last one was waaaayy back in 2016(Ha! I had to actually open my blog and check when was the last one). I’m staring at a plethora of things to write about. But that’s lesser of a concern, because I don’t even know if the blog posts are relevant anymore. Many a times, I’m guilty of scrolling past an article just by glancing the headline. And then, there’s this thing, that writes codes for you, writes resume for you, a story, a script for a movie. I don’t even know what else it does. Oh, you know that thing I’m talking about.

But, should all of that even be a concern. Shouldn’t we just do the things that we like? That which gives us a validation, hey, I’ve got a hobby. A rusty one, but, there’s one. So, incidentally I’ve picked up this when I was going to Cleveland State, during my first job at the university. I’ve written nearly 35-40 of them. And then it just went downhill, quicker than Spurs sacking their managers over the past few years. I don’t want to let go, however, world’s just changing at such a pace, that I don’t care to keep up with, let’s see, about 75% of things. Just can’t!

While there are so many platforms that provide an opportunity to get creative, I believe blogs certainly have their place. Just the way, the hardcover books are still relevant and they would be.

Life updates since my last post are numerous, I think, I certainly think, I’ve become much more sensible as a person than I was a few years ago. I, now, know how to email to a wider group of friends/peers which was so naive of me. Old me just had everyone in the To field, almost seeming it like a spam. I’m not even kidding, go back to my mails between 2011 to 2016. And this time around, I think I have so many things to write about, again, as was the case the last time I wrote.

We’re so much consumed by the daily routine, having to do a million things every day, differing priorities person to person from their perspectives. But, I’d ask or at least like to think a couple of questions. Am I really happy doing whatever I’m doing? If the answer is no, find that something that genuinely keeps you sane from this crazy rapidly changing world. But If your answer is yes, can you do any better? May be learn something new? Then, I’d think about that hobby(ies) and if they’re long gone, then may be make an effort to pick them up? Because there was a time that those made you happy, so why not? Or better yet, make a new one? Now, it’s easy to brush all of this aside, for the same reason that there’s no time for any of this, sure, you can do that, but when you look back a few years from now, begs a question, how did you take care of yourself? Something to think about.

So, on that note, if you made it to this line, thanks for reading through, amazing and a big thank you!

See you with a next one, hopefully, soon.

Yours,

Dev
