A comeback, again?

Countless thoughts, never ending plans of what to write. Serious considerations of writing stories. Sitting back and thinking if I could write a book at some point in my life, but before that a story, cause people say take one step at a time right. Yet, I dint care enough about my blog. Left it unnoticed. It was as if I abandoned it, was in a delusion that nobody cares for it. Which was partially true if I am not wrong, yet, why the heck does it matter to me. Its mine, I should be writing no matter what, cause that’s how I did when I started writing back in March 2011.

Couple of months ago, I wanted to make it a big deal, cause it marked 4 years of my blog, but I let the moment slip. Making a big deal of something, I do have serious second thoughts about it. A ‘why’ pops up in my mind straight away. Most importantly, any activity in facebook or any social networking site for that matter. Sharing a photo, status updates, tweeting and so on, is it all for the sake of attention. Yet, I cannot stop myself from doing so. However, I refrain myself from doing it often. If you ask me, zero activity on social networking sites I consider it dumb, sharing too much of personal info is bad too. So, where does one draw a line? Well, I’ll leave it upto one’s perception. Let me know what’s your take on this.

So, coming back to what kept me away from writing? I can say I was lazy. I sent questions out to void am I not zealous enough to write? Ofcourse, I dint have an answer to that. But, few concerned persons did ask me about my blog. When I was going to write again? So, I can safely say that kind of drove me to write this one, even if it meant to write at 1.20AM on a tired Saturday night. Well, the past few posts I happened to write at this odd hour of the day. My bro-in-law was one among the many to ask about my blogs, thanks to him. And yes, it did mean a lot. And a big sorry to my friend Mani, she suggested me to write a blog on a social issue, but I just couldn’t.

What's going on in my life? I really do not know how one keeps up with their hobbies when you have a lot going on in your life. Your professional life takes a toll on you. Then how do you keep up with your personal life? Life becomes seemingly passive. Staying away from family adds to it. Birthdays, anniversaries, important life events are all given a miss. Lots of words left unspoken. Yet, somehow, prioritizing things help.

Yes, that is what I did from the beginning of this year. No matter what the day is. A cheerful one or a stressful one, I don’t care. At the end of the day, I need to go workout. If I eat more for the lunch, burn it all out. A stressful day at work, I work out harder. Now that it is summer, and as I have started running outdoors, I run a mile more if it is a screwed up day at work. My colleagues would literally laugh at this, cause they know what it is when I say ‘screwed up day at work’. I mean come on, who doesn’t have manager issues. Right? J  I did prioritize this cause, after all health matters. Or take it this way right, you work out, then you can eat some junk once in a while. That’s the flipside of it.

And also, I can not say no to running outdoors, cause of the splendid views of Manhattan, Brooklyn bridge and also colorful chicks all over. J J

The other thing that’s constantly and consistently happening around me, is the updates in facebook. Either ‘engaged’, ‘married’ or few trolls saying ‘my first honeymoon’. I mean what’s all that about? In the literal sense it reminds me of Nagarjuna’s dialogue from Manmadhudu ‘Okadu prema antaadu, okadu pelli antaadu, inkokadu shobanam antadu, nashanam ayipondi’. But, seriously, I was surprised at people sharing weird stuff on facebook. Two of my idiot colleagues are getting married as well at the end of the year. My roomie Varun is definitely on the brink of giving such news as well, just the matter of time, you know!

And now that, its just few days away. I have spoken countless times about my obsession for music. I missed it when I was in India, there was a tour just before I came to US. Now, finally, I have been given a wonderful opportunity to experience it. The music concert of AR Rahman. Who else? My favorite musician, for which I’ve been longing to go to from years. The excitement has no bounds. Just to get a glimpse of the Maestro, I cannot just imagine what it would be like. And more reasons to write something about in my upcoming blog posts.

Having spoken nothing really about anything, I would call this one comeback sorts off a post, funny, cause I have done many such in the past. I guess, I do not really have anything concrete to write about. Well, if anyone is reading this, please give me some ideas.

How often do you feel, touchwood, if something that’s been going good in your life, you get the mere thought that there is something waiting to knock on your head and asking you to come down and walk on the ground, and stop overlooking the small things. Do you ever get that feeling? That something as such is bound to happen? I often get that. I do not know why. Even if not, can you be prepared for any such event? Face it as a challenge, may be?

It’s a long weekend in US, I’m sure everyone will be busy taking selfies, posting them on social networking sites and blah blah blah. So, cheers to that. Hoping to keep up with the pace this time.

Eat Healthy. Keep Smiling. Just Breathe!!

  2. Wonderful one Dev. I do agree with Mani with regarding writing a blog on social issue. If you start writing on the current social things for example nepal's disaster picking up earth quakes or pilot's emotional break down in the Germany flight crash or current trends...I am not asking to do as a news blog. But what i am saying is we do get interesting subjects in the news where we can pick up for writing the blog. I do accept some of them wont be bothered to read or reply coz of busy lives.I am one of them (sometimes). But you are writing for yourself and for us as well. Its always best to have a hicupp first rather than straight forward responses or expectations. That's how you will be prepared for the personal ego clashes. I hope you are understanding what I want to convey the message. Welcome back. I believe in one thing pick up a positive in a negative thing then you will never look back in your life. So welcome back again. Keep going. We really like reading your blogs.
