A Spectacular Evening at Dolby Theatre..
Today, February 25th
‘Cry cry itna cry karte hain
kaaye ko
Itna darrte hain kaaye ko
Pal pal marrte kaaye ko
Why why aisa why waisa kyun hota
Yun hota toh kya hota
Jo hota hai woh hota’
Itna darrte hain kaaye ko
Pal pal marrte kaaye ko
Why why aisa why waisa kyun hota
Yun hota toh kya hota
Jo hota hai woh hota’
Been a while since this song is out. An AR
Rahman composition, Jhoota hi Sahi, One of the amazing albums which not many
are aware off. Anyways, this was one of the morning songs today. And finally,
after a dry spell of 45 days, I really felt like writing. So, I knew it in the
morning that I was going to include the lines of the song in my post. As I set
out to start writing, I wanted the post to begin with it. Rashid Ali, who
apparently happens to be the singer of the song, is one of those singers to me,
whom I can never stop listening. His voice has so much of freshness, just like
a breezy evening, after it had poured heavily. You just keep wanting more of
it, for the reason it is so soothing to your ears. Well, that’s enough said. Go
listen the song, again. J
Last Evening,
3.15 PM…
That wasn’t the routine. In fact, I don’t even
remember when have I done that before. Which is why, I wanted to do it. How
many times have you gone out of your schedule? Aren’t you bored of your
routine? Ask me.. you’ll get a yes, which will be loud and clear. So, yesterday
was different. I wanted to get off work, early. Five hours, than the usual
time. I’ve had entire five hours to spare. As much as it was exciting to me
yesterday, it doesn’t sound the same to myself as I’m writing it down, today. You
must be thinking what a douche! I’m sorry I don’t care.
So, the first thing I did, well not exactly the
first thing, but I’ve had a long conversation with my brother-in-law, well lets
say, nearly after a month. Our conversation opened up several interesting
things. Especially about my nephew Agasthya(Sonu). Speaking endlessly to waiter
at a restaurant, loads of doubts that needs clarification which also involves
the enquiry of the parents of ‘Ravanasudu’ or the father of Sitadevi. Sonu,
what have you got into? :D :D I frankly do not know the answers to those
questions. Now, if he comes up to ask me, he’ll end up saying, Oh! What a
Shame! Seriously, why? So, the infant is now a little boy. There’s that. He’s
growing up, un-freaking-believably. J J
Sooner or say later, it was the time for the
big event. Something which I have been waiting for. Academy Awards or fondly,
Oscars. 85th year. Ofcourse, it took off with the biggest disappointment. The
Dark Knight Rises, not getting a single nomination and though ‘The Hobbit’
nominated in a category or two, which itself is a disappointment to carry
forward the legacy of ‘Lord of the Rings’. With them serving a huge let down,
there’s Tarantino’s Django and Spielberg’s Lincoln, and the irony I’ve missed
both of them at the Movies. Seriously? I have been waiting to watch them ever
since they started working on them and haven’t been able to watch them till
today. Oh, I Suck.
Adele Adkins, her performance at the Oscars was
one of the highlights last evening. She, certainly set fire singing the theme
song of Skyfall. Having won 6 Emmy’s the previous year, I wanted her to win the
Oscar. And She deservingly won it this year. Her reckless-but-sweet speech
includes ‘My man, I love you baby’ was witty and quirky. Speaking of the
winning speech, the noteworthy among them were by Quentin Tarantino, Ben
Affleck and his movie’s screenplay written by Chris Terrio.
Chris Terrio, said he waited 15 years to get
his break. Ben affleck’s speech was so touching, in his words “life knocks you
down, but you gotta get up”. Certainly, there was some hidden pain. That was
not something one would anticipate to say when they achieve something huge like
an Oscar, it came out like a flow.
Well, by the end of the show. Thoughts were
bewildering. So many inspiring people to know about. Working hard in their
fields. Believing what they do. Certainly, all the positivity can be squeezed
out. People who have been chasing dreams from years. Speaking of all those,
leaves but with no other option to say, all the determination, hard work and
dedication pays off. And motivates us to work better and better, strive
forward.
As much I was hoping
Spielberg to win the Best Director award, it was Ang lee who actually won it,
and Standing Ovation in the Dolby Theatre, including Spielberg, obviously, was
so respectable. I’m really short of adjectives to describe the entire awards
function last night.
So, the Suits Finale followed the awards
ceremony, which also brings to the end of the day. But, it actually did not. It
did at 3AM after a one hour conversation with Hari Krishna.
Yet here on a Monday evening. Not knowing what
has to be done, but deep down want to make sure to turn it into a cheerful day.
There’s this spring break coming up in two weeks. Something to be cheerful
about. Or should I be celebrating my blog’s second anniversary, next month.
Though it sounds very much amazing to me that I have been writing since two
years, I face the other side of the coin as to how to keep up the posts
flowing. Lot of stuff to be written about, yet, unsettling as to write it or
what?
Later

Right, right, it is
